This competition has been held annually since 1985. To date, more than 300 scholarships have been offered through this nationwide competition.

1. Objectives:
• To promote art design education through nationwide competition.
• To encourage the pursuit of art and design as a career.

2. Rules and general information:
• Eligibility
This is a nationwide competition and is opened to all Malaysian students who are in Form 3, 4, 5, 6 or Senior Middle 1, 2, 3.
All artworks must reach MIA on or before the closing date of 15 July 2007.
The 10 winners will be selected through an on-the-spot competition among all finalists, which will be held on 18 August 2007.

• Awards
A total of 10 scholarships (inclusive of a Lee Kar Yeow’s Scholarship) will be awarded to the winners. The scholarship is inclusive of a MIA 3-year diploma course worth RM 20,000 and a Certificate of Merit.
All finalists will receive a Certificate of Merit each.
MIA offers Diploma courses in Fine Art, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Illustration, Industrial Design and Textile & Fashion Design.

Winners will be announced on 18 August 2007.

• Title of competition
Fruits
Participants would use fruits as the subject matter in an artwork through drawings, painting or designs.
Size : 50 cm x 76 cm
Medium : Any medium (excluding computer works).

All artworks must reach MIA on or before the closing date of 15 July 2007
