As part of ongoing development cooperation between Australia and Indonesia, funding is being provided for Australian Partnership Scholarships (APS) to assist with reconstruction and development in Indonesia. The scholarships are provided for post-graduate study in Australia.

The Master of Applied Anthropology and Participatory Development (MAAPD) welcomes applications in relation to this scholarship program. MAAPD is aimed at government officials, NGO workers and consultants who are interested in the social dimensions of reconstruction and development.

The MAAPD addresses a range of the APS priority areas in relation to Public Sector Management:

* Decentralization. MAAPD provides extensive training in relation to local level management of development initiatives.
* Development Studies. MAAPD provides conceptual and practical training in relation to development, with a particular focus on participatory approaches.
* Gender Equity. MAAPD is one of only two programmes in Australia with a specialisation in relation to Gender and Development.
* Governance. MAAPD will provide students with extensive training in relation to local-level governance.
* Infrastructure Planning. MAAPD provides training on social mapping and social impact assessment in relation to infrastructure development.
* Regional, Community Planning & Development. MAAPD provides training on state of the art participatory approaches.
* Women in Development. MAAPD draws on the Australian National University’s internationally recognised strengths in the field of gender studies.

We are happy to work with potential applicants on tailoring the program to meet their particular interests. Students who do not meet the entry requirements for the MAAPD can first undertake a Diploma in Development Administration at Asia Pacific School of Economics and Government.
