Erasmus Mundus programme
Cooperation and mobility programme in the field of higher education.
Eligible candidates: Erasmus Mundus scholarships for master students

– Only candidates who have applied to and have been accepted by an Erasmus Mundus consortium in accordance with its specific students' application and selection criteria, are eligible for a scholarship.

– Students can apply for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship to the Erasmus Mundus master of their choice but the number of applications must be limited to maximum three courses.

– Scholarship candidates must have already obtained a first higher education degree or demonstrate a recognized equivalent level of learning according to national legislation and practices.

– Individuals who have already benefited from an Erasmus Mundus scholarship are not eligible for a second scholarship in order to follow the same or another Erasmus Mundus master course.

– Students benefiting from an Erasmus Mundus master course scholarship cannot benefit from another Community grant while pursuing their Erasmus Mundus masters studies.

– scholarships are awarded exclusively for a full-time enrolment in one of the course editions.



Eligible candidates: Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorate fellowships

– Only candidates who have applied to and have been accepted by an Erasmus Mundus doctorate consortium in accordance with its specific doctoral candidate’s application and selection criteria are eligible for a fellowship.

– Individual Erasmus Mundus doctorate fellowships are awarded exclusively for full-time enrolment in one of the Erasmus Mundus doctorate programmes.

– Individuals who have already benefited from an Erasmus Mundus doctorate fellowship are not eligible for a second grant.

– Doctoral candidates benefiting from an Erasmus Mundus fellowship cannot benefit from other Community grants while carrying out their Erasmus Mundus doctoral activities.

Value and purpose of grant

The Erasmus Mundus grants are divided in two categories (A and B), depending whether students/doctoral candidates come from a country outside the EU (cat. A) or from a European country (cat. B), and vary according the duration of the joint programme and the mobility track.

Indicative amounts for the EM scholarships of the Erasmus Mundus master courses
Up to € 48.000 for a two year master programma (cat. A scholarships)
Up to € 23.000 for a two year master programme (cat. B scholarships)

Up to € 14.400 for a scholar, for a period of three months.

Indicative amounts for the EM doctorate fellowships for the Erasmus Mundus doctorate programmes

Up to € 129.900 during 36 months for a doctorate programme (cat. A fellowship)

Up to € 61.200 during 36 months for a doctorate programme (cat. B fellowships)

Application procedure: The selection criteria are set up by the consortium (group of institutions) that offers the master or the doctorate programme. Each consortium selects the students and the doctoral candidates and awards the Erasmus Mundus scholarships.



The consortia offering an Erasmus Mundus master course may appoint a small number of scholars/academic staff for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship.



Candidates should apply directly to the Erasmus Mundus programmes.

The University of Amsterdam aims to attract the world’s brightest students to its international classrooms. Outstanding students from outside the European Economic Area can apply for an Amsterdam Merit Scholarship.

Requirements for eligibility

Candidates wishing to take part in the Amsterdam Merit Scholarship programme must meet the following requirements:

* Hold a non-EU/EEA passport and not be eligible for support under the Dutch system of study grants and loans ("Studiefinanciering"; for more information please refer to: www.ib-groep.nl). The scholarship office should be notified as soon as possible of any change in nationality, type of residence permit, and/or possible “Studiefinanciering” support, throughout the academic year.
* Be fully admitted to a degree programme at the Universiteit van Amsterdam which is registered at the Central Register of Higher Education Programmes (CROHO; for more information refer to: www.ib-groep.nl).
For more information about general application requirements, please consult the individual programme descriptions at www.uva.nl/isp for study programmes taught in English, or www.uva.nl/application for study programmes taught in Dutch.
Scholarship continuation is not guaranteed when a candidate changes his or her degree programme.
* Be admitted to a bachelor's or master's programme at the Universiteit van Amsterdam for the first time. AMS will not be awarded to candidates who are admitted for a second bachelor's or master's programme at the Universiteit van Amsterdam.
* Be able to comply with Dutch visa regulations (follow the link to the IND website below).
* Be enrolled at the UvA as full-time student for the academic year and the programme for which the scholarship is awarded.
* The candidate should not receive a full coverage scholarship for the same period of study as the AMS scholarship. Notify the scholarships office when another full scholarship such as HSP, Alban, NFP, etc. has been awarded and which scholarship has been chosen to accept.
* Scholarship continuation for subsequent year(s) of study depends upon satisfactory study progress. The programme you will be enrolled in, as it depends on the curriculum and rules and regulations of the department, sets the standard for satisfactory progress, the time and manner in which progress will be measured. Please be advised that you are expected to gain approximately 80% of credits in any one year.

IIEF in coorperation with the East-West Center is giving Master Degre Scholarship Program for individuals who are interested in joining the education and research program of University of Hawaii, Manoa to obtain their Masters Degree.
This scholarship is available for Masters Degree (24 months) and Doctorate Degree (48 months). Through this program, scholars will have the opportunity to join research projects in their field of studies such as economy, politics and security, environmental, population and health, education as well as development in Asia Pacific region. Furthermore, University of Hawaii, Manoa also offers to certify Master Degree programs in the fields of Leaership Study, International Cultural Study, Population Study and Resources Management Study.

General Requirement

Applicants have to be US citizen or US permanent resident holder or citizen of Asia Pacific region including Russia.

Applicants have to register themselves in one of the Masters Degree programs at University of Hawaii, Manoa or already registered as students of Master Degree at University of Hawaii, Mano.

Have minimum TOEFL (international) grade of 213 Computer-Based Testing/550 Paper Based Testing/ 79-80 Internet-Based Testing and GRE/GMAT (according to terms in each field of studies).

Applicants have to complete all requirements in order to gain the exhange visitor visa (J-visa).
